Summer 2008 Internship

     This past summer, I interned at The Leader, a weekly publication for the U.S. Army Leader’s Training Course. I documented a company of 250 cadets, during their 28-day stay at Fort Knox, Ky. The cadets, of various ages, came from their respective universities across the United States as well as Puerto Rico and Guam. The Leader’s Training Course gave them a taste of what they can expect if they decide to enlist in the army. Cadets aren’t obligated to join the army upon graduation, however, the army conducts the training for recruiting purposes. 

     Cadets are taught to work together as a team and to reach their goals during a variety of activities, such as: combat water survival training, basic rifle marksmanship,   capsizing zodiac boats, high ropes course and the clearing of a bunker using paint-loaded bullet guns. The exercises are intended to help the cadets build confidence and to face and overcome their fears.
